dvdetect

Question

One of my dedicated storage node on the SAN is running 2 dvdetect.exe process utilizing above normal CPU process. Dvdetect.exe can be found under Legato's nsr\bin directory.

Does networker normally run this process and does it have to be 2 processes running?

dvdetect runs on storage nodes as a background process to ddmgr for detecting tape devices. It should stop once it has detected the devices.Have you configured the drives for this storage node.

Yes we have configured the drives for this storage node. We are just wondering why the dvdetect process did not stop running even though it has detected the devices already.

Problably it hang somewhere. Try to kill both, it should work (but do not answer the question 'why they're running'
