Hello Xiazhen,
I recommend to check out the knowledge base article : esg107679 "Inquire and lusbinfo fail with error 'Incorrect function' under Windows Server 2003."
http://solutions.emc.com/EMCSolutionView.asp?id=esg107679&usertype=C
Cause
'Incorrect function' is a generic device access error returned by the operating system. This may also be seen when trying to address damaged physical media. This is not an inquire error.
According to Microsoft:
"In this scenario, the IOCTL_SCSI_GET_INQUIRY_DATA I/O control operation returns the following error: STATUS_INVALID_DEVICE_REQUEST
This issue occurs because of a logic error in the Storport.sys process that prevents the driver from returning the correct data for SCSI bus 8. This is a result of having KB916048 installed on top of Windows 2003 SP1 or upgrading to SP2 without KB943545 installed
Best Regards,
Conor.
