INQUIRE is a local command - it just reports what can be found locally on the storage node.
If the device does not appear, the correct driver is missing. However this is mandatory as NW does not install it - it relys on what the OS sees.

Try running 'dvdetect -s ' on storage node. This will populate the device under storage node in NMC.
Then you will be able to configure the device easily.
