maximum number of devices in NetWorker?
I have question about amount of devices in NetWorker. After running the following jbedit command, it shows that the maximum number of devices is 176 units. I am not sure why it shows 176. From what I know:
For Network edition, the number of devices is 16 + 16 per storage node.
For Power edition, the number of devices is 32 + 32 per storage node.
I am not sure about maximum number of devices. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks. See the following adding of a device to a server.
hercules# jbedit -j S1L700E -a
Adding a device:
Enter pathname of device to be added ? pepper2:/dev/rmt/1cbn
Is this device going to be shared? (yes/no) [yes]
1) /dev/rmt/9cbn
2) /dev/rmt/10cbn
3) /dev/rmt/11cbn
4) /dev/rmt/12cbn
5) /dev/rmt/17cbn
6) /dev/rmt/18cbn
7) /dev/rmt/19cbn
8) /dev/rmt/20cbn
9) None of the above
Choose from above the index number of the device that rd=pepper2:/dev/rmt/1cbn is going to be shared with.
Shared device name? [1] 2
Is the device to be configured as a NDMP device? (yes/no) [no]

- number of nsrmmds supported by server (currently XXX I believe)
- license edition (3 or 4 of them)
How many devices do you have currently defined?

THanks for your response. Kindly let me know what does XXX mean? Does it mean 999?
I currently have 176 devices defined but want more, however I get the error "Maximum is 176".

Enterprise -> unknown, but I suspect same as Power
Power -> 512 (since 7.2, before was 256)
Network -> 256
Workgroup -> 4
Business -> 4
Advanced file device will span 2 nsrmmds (each for one logical device).
