network teaming problem

hi,

we recently setup a server running networker 7.2.2 on windows. server is hp proliant with 2 gigabit ethernet. we teamed nics by using "Switch-assisted Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance (SLB)". in cisco switch we used etherchannel. i can see 2 Gbit/s in server. now problem is at night, after a scheduled backup(but not every) starts, server crashes and because of ASR server restarts itself. when i dissolve the team and run the server as 1 Gbit/s everything is ok. what can be the problem ?

thanks.

It doesn't sound as NW problem to me. I had some issues with teaming due to offload engines which needs to be disabled, but I never had any crashes as you do.

Hi,

This may be the most obvious question - your switch supports this mode of teaming ?

If so are there switch configs which need to be enabled to provide this functionality?

Have you tried to move data to the backup server using ftp or something like? Maybe the server cannot handle the amount of data the client sends, and usually you would have the same problem trying to transfer data in other ways than backup. If the server crashes using ftp, then you can look for configurations on teaming that you may have to change, or drivers you need to update.

You could also try to lower parallelism and see if you have the problem (another test to the same situation).
