what VADP_VM_NAME do I use?

NetWorker 8.1.1

Client: Windows

DNS domain: xxxx.com

AD domain: yyyy.xxxx.com

vSphere 5.5 U1

When i try to set up VADP proxy backup, I receive the following error:

80398:nsrvadp_save: Unable to find the VM with VM name

At the Windows command prompt, when I type hostname, it returns "vmguest150" - no capitalization, no domain (neither DNS or AD)

Within vSphere, the DNS name of the machine is listed as vmguest150.yyyy.xxxx.com

I have read other posts on this issue and have tried various forms of the name:

VADP_VM_NAME=vmguest150

VADP_VM_NAME=vmguest150.xxxx.com

VADP_VM_NAME=vmguest150.yyyy.xxxx.com

VADP_VM_NAME=VMGUEST150

VADP_VM_NAME=VMGUEST150.XXXX.COM

VADP_VM_NAME=VMGUEST150.YYYY.XXXX.COM

All these variations of the VADP_VM_NAME are listed in Aliases

I've even tried the descriptive name it is called in the vSphere GUI (enclosed in quotes).  Same error on all attempts.

Any direction would be appreciated.

I have found that the parameter VADP_VM_NAME often isn't needed at all, as long has the NetWorker server and potentially storage nodes can resolve the client name. At any rate, VADP_VM_NAME is the name the VM has in Virtual Center, without any quotes.
