Cannot connect to 2724

I just received a new PowerConnect 2724 device.  I have installed it, activated managed mode, and attempted to connect to ip 192.168.2.1 via IE6.0 without success. I get a page unavailable error. I am not able to ping  the address either.  Any ideas???

is the computer you are trying to access the switch from configured with appropriate IP info? in the form of 192.168.2.X/XXX? Must be on the same network to connect that would be about the only issue if you are using a standard patch cable that checks out fine.
