Cannot connect to Switch Stack
Hi All,
Hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.
I have an issue with a stack of 3 Dell N2048s, after troubleshooting some issues on the network I powered down this stack. Since powering down the stack I have been unable to connect to the master by anything other than the console cable.
I’ve checked the fibre run back to the core switches in the server room (8cores available and for redundancy 1 run goes into the stack member 1 and one into stack member 3) and as far I can’t tell this is all functioning correctly, I’ve also checked the cores themselves and there has been no configuration changes in the last 8 months, the other edge switches/stacks are all functioning as expected and I can ping/access them no problems.
Since this switch has gone down the network issues having seemingly ceased, I’ve tried booting each switch individually, replaced GBIC’s and cables etc and compared the config the best I can with one of the other working stats. There are a number of vlans but Ive been unable to get basic connectivity on any of them (They all work elsewhere).
I’ll dump a config tomorrow as I appreciate that will help troubleshoot further however my next step is to remove one switch from the stack and factory reset it - anybody else able to offer any further guidance?
Many Thanks
S

Hi,
Try updating the firmware if it isn’t up to date and also rebooting the stack again. What method are you trying to use that isn’t working now?
