Connect 2 PC 5448 using Fiber instead of ethernet

Looking for suggestions on connecting my two PC 5448 switches together using Fiber instead of Ethernet.

I have one 5448 in a closet where all of my LAN drops terminate into my patch panel.

I have the other PC 5448 mounted in my cabinet along with my servers.

Currently I have a single CAT5 cable running between the two switches.

I have ordered the following from Dell so I can connect the 2 switches together with fiber instead of the single CAT5.

1 SFP 1000SX TRANSCEIVER, PowerConnect (no cables included), Cust Kit

LC/LC LSZH Simplex 9/125 Single-Mode Yellow Fiber Patch Cable - 49.21 ft

Will I need to do anything special on each switch to make this work?

All I intend to do is remove the current CAT5 cable connecting the 2 switches together and replacing it with the new fiber.

Thanks

Dell,

Please review the above products.

Wouldn't your client require 2 sfp modules for 2 switches?
Please confirm that the SX SFP will run on LC/LC LSZH Simplex 9/125 Single-Mode.   Typically SX runs on multi-mode fiber.  The distance 49 ft does not require single mode methods.

I contacted Dell PowerConnect group and explained to them this same exact setup and this is what they quoted me.

I assume that the SFP transceiver product code would include two of them since it says Cust Kit at the end.

Could be wrong and won’t know until I'm back in the office next week.

As for the compatibility of the connectors and the type of cable, I'm very new to the fiber stuff, which is why I contacted Dell and posted here.

Are there any Dell PowerConnect Techs that can comment on MrBobC reply?

Thanks
