Dell has a remote monitoring solution called Open Manage Network Manager.  Here is a link for more information.

In order to add more functionality to SCOM 2012 you would need to identify any possible MIBs that can be used to link the switch reporting to SCOM 2012

The MIB list is found in the zip file of the firmware download.  It would be recommended that you have the latest firmware on the switch also.

Here is a link to the latest firmware download.

There is a tool called iReasoning MIB browser for Windows and other like it that scan  a switch for available MIBs.

Thank you for your response, however, I would have thought the SNMP protocol would have send all the data or performance counters in this case, to SCOM, or at least dell would have release a MP for their switches, since they already have made MP for other products available.

Is there some official documentation or tool to integrate the switches Dell PowerConnect with SCOM? I would prefer not using OpenManage since I don't want to introduce yet another software for management.

Thanks for your time

The documentation found here from Microsoft does not list any of the PowerConnect devices for Extended Monitoring Capabilities.

The Dell switches are not included in any of the MP's available.  You do have the option of  loading the MIBs individually from the list that is provided in the compressed firmware download.
