Dell S4128F-ON OS10: linux shell interface (ip link) commands don't seem to work

On two Dell S4128F-ON switches  both running OS10.5.0.0P5

In the Linux shell,  interfaces do not seem to go out

With a command like "ip link set dev e101-010-0 down".

If you check the output in the Linux shell the interface is down but in the clish the interface is still up:

e101-010-0:  mtu 1500 qdisc multiq master brxxx state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
