Failing Connectivity with a PowerConnect 2716
Hi all
I'm having communications problems on my network which I seem to be able to trace to failing ports on my 2716 (diagnosed by finding no lights). Is there a diagnostic program I can run?
Also how do I address it please? I cant call it up using a browser & the IP address I have down for it
Support seems to be limited for these (at least to my non technical eye)
thank you

If there are no lights, the switch does not have power or is dead. Please describe what LEDs are on on the switch and any additional information you think is imprtant.

Hi
thanks for the reply. Very difficult to tie it down precisely. Lights (LEDs) on at least one of the ports are lighting intermittently or not lighting at all. On the other end of this cable (at the relevant PC) the LED is on constantly. This is leading to frequent loss of network connectivity. This loss has been increasing in frequency. When the same cable is plugged into another port on the switch the problem resolves itself. Currently I have a spare port on the switch so all good but as this is a recent occurrence I'm worried its symptomatic of a failing switch?
