Hi Jon,
When you ran the command did you have #http-server did you include enable at the end?
#http-server enable
You can also view the current settings with show ip http
As outlined on this page http://www.force10networks.com/CSPortal20/TechTips/0067_HowDoIEnableNetworkManagementFunctions.aspx#HTTP
You may also need to install the Smartscripts for http support

It sounds like it needs the SmartScripts thing installed, let me check that out,
