How to fix problem with CasArray NLB IP on Dell switches PC5524

Hi there!
I'm using PC5524, and i've connected dell server in cluster with HyperV 2012.

i've setup several virtual machines, including some exchange CAS server. i've implemented CasArray for them, but i've problems as below:

Parent servers:
Srv1
Srv2
All these two form the cluster, and are connected to same switch PC5524

Exchange CasServer as Virtual Machines:
Cas1-> IP 10.1.1.1
Cas2-> IP 10.1.1.2
NLB CasArray IP: 10.1.1.10

From other computers in LAN, i could ping the casarray IP 10.1.1.10, but i could not telnet to ports 25 or 443, so clients could not connect their microsoft outlook to casarray.

when i put IP interfaces of CAS servers to PRIVATE Virtual switch, and i test from other virtual machines within same virtual switch, the connection is fine.

So there is some problem with multicas IP/MAC address of CASArray.
maybe i've to manually setup on dell switch PC5524 the mac address of cas array and its IP, but i'm not clear if this is need or not, and if yes, how to do it.
let me know please.
Regards!

Hi Daniel!
Yes, the traffic in on the same VLAN, the physical servers are connected to same switch PC5524, and i've created virtual switches to those interfaces.
What you mean for telnet is working to other devices???

from none of the clients, also from none of the Mailboxes, i could not telnet to ports 25 or 443 to CASARRAY IP.
But i could ping it succefully.

So, i don't know where is the problem.
i've found something here, but i'm not clear if in my situation is this or not.

Hi Daniel.
Yes, i found the command on page 394, and has following paragraph:

Default Configuration
No static addresses are defined. The default mode for an added address is
permanent.
Command Mode
Global Configuration mode
Example
console(config)# mac address-table static 00:3f:bd:45:5a:b1 vlan 1
gi1/0/1

In reality, i've three physical server that are part of same cluster, where the virtual machines are running (also the Exchange Cas Server), and i've to enter the command for interfaces gi1/0/2 and gi1/0/3 also.

i'll try tomorrow, and i'll let you know.
Regards!

Hi Daniel!
I'm Using Windows Server 2008 R2 OS.
I'm in vacancies, and on next monday, i'll try to configure on Dell PC5524, with commands that are on pdf book.
Currently, i changed the dns record of cas array to point to only one of the client access server, "AND IT IS WORKING FINE", but i've to point it to IP of NLB Multicast.
i'll update you next week.
Regards!

let me give you some information.

1.
When i used by default mode, UNICAST, the casarray IP could be ping only from the CAS Server itself (none of other server/computers).
when i show the ARP table on switch, it is not shown.
even i tried to add manually the MAC address and it still could not be ping by other computers (even when i add its arp with mac address and IP of Casarray).

2.
when i used MULTICAST mode on NLB of windows server, the casarray could be ping by other computers on same VLAN, but not from other VLANs.
It still don't shows on macaddress table of dell Switch PC5524

When i tried to add manually the MAC address of CasArray to switch PC5524, it shows an error that macaddress is multicast, and could not be added, it must be unicast.

so, what can i try, what can i do?
Regards!

Yes, VLAN routing is working fine.
Clients could connect to VLAN of servers, so everything is fine, except the NLB of Windows.
