How to reset 6248 to factory default without web UI and terminal access?
We have an used Dell switch we redeploy somewhere else. Unfortunately, we do not know it's IP address. We also don't have the special serial cable (both end required female connectors) to access it's console. We pressed the reset button that didn't appear to reset anything. How does this reset button works?
btw, why does Dell not using standard female serial port connector on their switches so that we can just get a standard serial cable with male connector on one end (to the switch) and female connector on the other end (to the laptop)?

You just need an industry standard null-modem serial cable.
Then you set your serial terminal software to 9600, 8N1 and no flow control (though this last one doesn't seem to impact things all that much).
