Hello,

This looks to me like the switch can't complete the boot process. Have you tried flashing the firmware? In the boot menu, what options do you see? The manual indicates that there should be a backup image to boot to. This may help test.

The last message on the console indicates the switch OS is booted up fine.

Did you try hitting [Enter] to activate the console?

December 22nd, 2020 04:00

is there a way to upgrade the firmware without web/console access ? The switch is on 5.0.1.3 and i downloaded : PC7000_M6348v5.1.16.1.stk

Did a try to copy it to a usb pen (fat32) but the switch don't make a auto-upgrade. Do i have to use the 2nd boot menu ?

Is there no "secret door" like the 30 in the boot menu ?

Hello,

thanks for your answers. I did a try to change the serial/usb adapter, from a Ugreen to a Atem.

Now the switch reload the boot process :

i found a page, explaining how to upgrade the FW using the serial cable : https://vnetwise.wordpress.com/2012/05/13/recovering-a-dell-powerconnect-6248-from-bad-flash/

it seems that it worked, so i can't imagine that the switch have a problem .... Now i have this at boot (letting it boot) :

Hi Jean,

unfortunately this message is indicating a hardware problem:

soc_reset_bcm56634_a0: TCAM PLL not locked

Please check the service tag of the switch for warranty and contact Dell technical support.
