Hello Josh, I just add the ntp server on the switch using "ntp server IP address" command. The ntp server is not directly attached/connected to the switch rather it can see the switches network thus it is pingable from the switch. My question now is how can I test from the switch side if the UDP port 123 is open or if there are firewall blocking the communication between the two.

Hi, What is the configuration for the NTP set as on the switch? Is the NTP server directly connected to this switch? Page 1673 debug ntp command may help. https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_networking/esuprt_net_fxd_prt_swtchs/force10-s4048-on_administrator%20guide_en-us.pdf

The switch has a ping command you can use. Page 125 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_networking/esuprt_net_fxd_prt_swtchs/force10-s4048-on_administrator%20guide_en-us.pdf
