I figured out the problem!

On the M1000e CMC Chassis Overiew / Network / VLAN config.  The VLAN Tag setting was enabled for the M8024 in B1.  This was preventing it from working properly on our network, because the vlan defined for the VLAN ID specified was not configured.  I unchecked the box in the "Enable" column (for B1), and it now can be accessed!

Thanks!

I first log into the CMC via a web browser.

I then click on the B2 module (10GbE XAUI - the M8024).  Then I Click on the LAUNCH I/O Module button.

If I do this with the B1 module, it works.  I'm able to log into the 8024 GUI.  I am also able to configure the IP address of the modules from within the CMC web page.  Under Setup/Deploy (Deploy I/O Modules).  It shows each IOM Slot (A1/A2/B1/B2/C1/C2), along with the power state, DHCP config (on/off), and IP address.  I've given configured the IP address for each switch (B1 and B2).  B1 is the one i'm having a problem with..  It doesnt reply to a ping.  I can ping and access the module in B2 though with no problems.

Could it be that it's running in some redundant mode, and i'm not able to make any changes to it?  I'm new to this blade chassis, and don't know all the 'ins and outs' of it yet.

OK:

I have two NIC cables plugged into the CMC ports on the back of the M1000 (Top right and top left)

Here is my network info:

The network switch is on default native VLAN 476.  Each port on the switch is also trunked with other VLANs (80,81,1240,1241)

The subnet operating on vlan 476 is   ###.###.176.0 / 22 (subnet mask 255.255.252.0) (1024 IP's).

The IP of the CMC is ###.###.179.100, the IP of B1-80240-switch: ###.###.179.101, and IP of B2 is ###.###.179.102.

The IP of my workstation is ###.###.179.200

I'm accessing the CMC HTTP GUI from my workstation on the same VLAN 476 and same subnet.

From my workstation I can ping the CMC, and I can ping B2, but I cannot ping B1.

I can log into the CMC web GUI, and I can log into B2's web gui, but cannot log into B1.

I can connect the serial cable to B1, and access the CLI CMC.

I suspect the problem is  VLAN related, and that it's got a vlan tagged or something.  I think it may think that it's on a different vlan.  It used to be on a different network.  How, through the CMC CLI can I change the default VLAN for the switch itself?  I want to turn off the vlan, but I will be using VLAN's for the 4 ports on the back of it.

Sorry for all this confusion.
