N2048 dot1sBpduReceive(): Discarding the BPDU, cannot get buffer from buff pool
I have been searching for a solution to this error. I have found other Dell switches have had this corrected in latest firmware releases. I am using the latest I could find for the N2048. Rev 6.1.2.4 still getting the error.
I am trying to come up with a good way to implement spanning tree. Spanning tree works fine until I introduce a switch loop on a dumb switch plugged into one of my ports on the N2048.
Anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks
Joe

I have a root switch and 5 switches connected in a star topo
stand alone N2024
3 N2048's in a stack
stand alone 5548
the 2000 series are the switches I am having the issue with the 5548 is fine.
Spanning tree is working properly
with the following settings
this is for the N2000's
spanning tree
spanning tree mode rstp
int ran gi all
spanning tree auto-portfast
spanning tree guard root
The dumb switch is a Netgear FS108
I only get the error when I create the loop on the FS108
and the port shutsdown goes into D-Down state
The error scrolls for about 1 min before the prompt returns
I'm trying to avoid the port shutting down.
Cisco has errdisable recovery that these don't seem to have that would solve my problem.
My goal is to have the port blocked until the loop goes away then go back to a normal state.
Thanks'for any ideas
Joe

Any updates on your testing? I am really thinking a new firmware needs to be released
