N2048P stack

Hi,

I have setup several stacks with N2048P switches.

I noticed when the switches were powered up simultaneously, each switch takes different times to complete the boot cycle (Noticed difference is around 5-10seconds). As a result, stack member 1 does not become the Master.

1. Is there any way for the stack member 1 to preempt others and become the master when it is available?

2. Is it possible to delay boot a switch to make stack member 1 to be the master always?

Thank you very much!

Hi,

If you are powering the whole stack off and back on it should keep the same master https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_networking/esuprt_net_fxd_prt_swtchs/networking-n2000-series_user%27s-guide10_en-us.pdf

Page 244. You could also initiate a failover manually after booting the stack.
