OS10 switchport trunk allow vlan all

Hi Jörg,

maybe some things changed in OS10.

All I found is this:

https://dell.to/3sTCtU9

Dell(config-if-Gi1/0/1)# switchport trunk allowed vlan all
By default trunk mode allows all vlans.  This command is helpful when you need to return the trunk configuration back to default.

The command allows all VLANs but I guess not tagged as described here:

https://dell.to/3a04CjM

switchport mode {access | trunk}

access — Enables L2 switching of untagged frames on a single VLAN.
trunk — Enables L2 switching of untagged frames on the access VLAN, and of tagged frames on the VLANs specified with the switchport trunk allowed vlan command.

On the other hand the document also states that:
In OS10 switch’s we can have Multiple Tagged Vlans and one Untagged VLAN.

Sorry, I'm not that firm in networking yet, so maybe someone else may step in here.

Best regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

thanks for your reply.

"tagged frames on the VLANs specified with the switchport trunk allowed vlan command"

This is like it works today. There is no option for "all" or a range because in a range every vlan have to exist before you set the range, so using 1-4093 isn't working.

Where is the best way for feature requests?

Best regards,

Jörg

Hey Jörg,

for an urgent solution, the best way is to create a request via the TechSupport hotline, this requires a switch with an active warranty. If you own one (or more) then simply call the hotline, maybe they have already a solution for it, and if not they can raise the request.

Best regards,

Stefan
