PC6248 Link Lights
I noticed that our link lights on the 6248 are blinking slow in unison and not the fast flicker like all the other switches. I can't seem to find any information on the link lights. These link lights are on our fiber ports if that helps. I have had nothing but weird things happen with the newer switches.
Thanks for any info.

I found the info on the link lights. but all the other switches that we have, the link lights rapidly blink and the 6248 which is our core switch, does have some intermittent issues. I recently upgraded the firmware to the last release, and it didn't seem to help much.
What I'm seeing is on the same fiber link. Say, from our 5448 to our 6248, the link light is rapidly blinking about 10 times per second, where as the 6248 is blinking at say 2 to 3. Even on the same link the activity doesn't match, according to the link lights.
I think this makes sense. I did read somewhere, can't find it now, but link lights usually blink in unison when there is a broadcast storm.

Here is a link to the User Guide:

Page 64-67 discuss the different LED states on the 62xx model switch. Basically if it is green and blinking then it has activity at some level of speed associated with the cable/connector type.
Are you seeing any type of unusual behavior or traffic over these specific port connections?
Here is a link to the latest firmware for the 62xx model. It was last updated 11/20/2012:

You can look at running cable diagnostics on the connection that is having intermittent issues. Page 152-156 in the User Guide (link found in previous post) discusses the built in diagnostic features built into the Powerconnect 6248.
