Port Monitoring a Wireless Bridge for WAN Failover
Hello,
Is it possible for my Dell N1548P switch to monitor a port that a wireless bridge is running on where it also gets it's main internet connection from? Also, if the wireless bridge or internet connection drops it can close that switch port and open the switch port on another port for the backup WAN? Here is a good view of the topology. The backup router is not currently connected to the switch until I can figure this out. Thanks!

Hi richkryo,
Thank you for your question. If I am understanding you correctly you are wanting it to switch to a different port if the internet fails and it uses a backup connection. Unfortunately, this switch does not have a feature like that. If you had a N3000 or N4000 you could probably make it work with routing protocols, but it would still be a complicated configuration. The better way would be for the routers to have both WAN connections and to manage failover. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
