Port Monitoring on Powerconnect 3048
We are running an application that needs to be able to see the traffic passing to the firewall. We are having trouble setting the configuration of the 3048 switch to allow this visibility. Any suggestions would be helpful
thanks

If I read your response correctly, I should monitor the traffic going to the router. If I remember correctly, I can monitor more than one port. Therefore, I should be able to monitor the traffic being received by the two main routers.
Thanks

If the router is connected to the 3048 via a direct uplink, you will not be able to use the port mirroring feature on the 3048 to monitor the traffic passing from the 3048 to the router. The port mirroring feature is only capable of monitoring the ingress traffic (inbound) to the switch. If you were to mirror this uplink, you would only see traffic passing from the router to the switch not from the switch to the router. To monitor the traffic from the switch to the router, you would need to use a port mirroring feature on the router.
Additionally, the 3048 cannot mirror one port at a time. There can only be one source port and one destination port.
