Power Connect 5548 - Port Mirroring
Hello all,
I need help with ports mirroring for powerconnect 5548. We are trying to mirror all the ports to one destination but it's not working. After adding 4 sources, any additional source gives an error message that says "Too many monitoring sessions". Is it not possible to do this?
Sometime ago, I was able to do the same thing with a different switch but, I had to create 4 sessions with certain number of ports assigned.
Help would be appreciated

Hi,
You might want to refer to the user guide for restrictions of port mirroring:

Thank you for your reply and response. However, I have already looked at the manual or documentation before i came here and pg 411-417 and it doesn't show or give me information for how to resolve my issue.

Osariase,
Normally you would take 1 source port to 1 destination port. This would equal 1 port mirror session. When you take multiple port sources, and point them all to the same destination port, the max you can have is 4 source ports to 1 destination port. Yet it does not make much sense to force 4 or 8 1GbE ports to 1 GbE mirror port, as traffic will likely drop and analysis will be inaccurate. To answer your question though, on this switch platform there is no other option to achieve what you need, as it's a hard limit in the switch chip.
Let me know if this helps.
