PowerConnect 2724 VLAN Config?

Hello all,

I have a couple of web managed Dell PowerConnect 2724 switches in production that I need to configure VLANs for. I know I could play around and figure this out, but since they are in production, that won't fly.

It's a pretty simple setup, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Here's what I am planning on doing:

•Create a 2nd VLAN with an VLAN ID of 2 for our web servers and load balancers
•Add the ports for the load balancers and server NICs to VLAN ID 2, then configure the ports to Tag egress packets
•Done?

Our load balancers send out a few broadcasts every second to determine which servers are alive, if the hot-failover load balancer is alive, and so forth. I want to isolate that traffic from our other servers.

Is it really as easy as the steps I've outlined above?

Also, we currently have the two 2724s connected via a single fiber port. Would it be worthwhile to configure a LAG group for additional bandwidth between the two switches as well as redundancy?

Thanks!
