PowerConnect 2824 not showing >Console#

I have a Powerconnect 2824 i'm trying to access the WebUI on. I am not able to set up the switch through the console so that it will let me configure it to put it on the correct subnet and IP address. It will simply show > after it is through booting instead of >Console# and letting me input commands. Even after switching to Managed mode repeatedly.

I've tried nearly everything I can think of. Deleting the config flash file, doing a full reset; the usual steps. I have the null modem and console set up fine because I am able to see it boot and do everything else except give it commands.

What am I missing here? Why can I not give the switch commands?

I've been through the manual before and considered that option. Was stopped by the fact it requires a >Console# prompt to even run the command to which I cannot do.

Do I have any other options or is there a way to locally flash the firmware without the usual commands available?

What happens if you use the default ip for the web interface 192.168.2.1?

Timed out. Even after I subnet correctly and set to a 192.168.2.x address on the PC trying to access the interface.

Is it a new switch? Can you private message me the service tag?
