PowerConnect 2848 Intermittent issue

A few weeks ago I went through maintenance to divide the network into 2 subnets.

The first subnet is left on the unmanaged part of the switch "VLAN ID 1" completely unmanaged.

The second portion of the network is divided into a new subnet marked as 'untagged' - "VLAN ID 100"

With the 2848 you then need to go into the port settings for each of the ports you want to convert, and rebind them to the new vlan.  After doing all of this, everything works fine.

VLAN 1 cannot talk to VLAN 100, vice versa.  Both can reach the internet .  ( completely doubt this is a firewall issue. )

Finally getting to the issue.

About 2-3 times a week VLAN 100 will just DROP.  No internet, cannot ping other devices within or out of the network.  Using SSH i was able to bounce off a machine within the subnet, and even weirder:  DNS still functions, as it can resolve 'google.com' but it cannot reach it's destination.  This issue will occur for 5-10mins, then resolve itself like nothing happened.

I've yet to find a time during the day it 'always' does it.  It's completely random and i've searched up and down the config for something that 'creates random issues' but i've yet to see anything.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Over the weekend I had done a lot of testing on this, the issue did not occur and I had updated the firmware.

This morning this issue has occurred 1-2 times.  At this point I think i have an idea of what's causing it, and not 100% sure on how to fix it.

I think the issue is with the wireless and the wired.

The odd issue is that it's taken 3 weeks to show , but i'm pretty sure at this point it's flipping the switch out.  I've not been able to be in the switch when the issue is occurring.

SO:  What I think it may be is.  The wireless network is on a completely different subnet, along with firewall routes.  I'm thinking this is creating a loop somewhere in the system, the way I would be able to verify this is add subnet 100 to the ACL that the wireless is on.

Then sit on my thumb until the issue decides to occur again.

Any other suggestions?
