PowerConnect 3500 Monitor Errors on Interface
Good Day,
We use PRTG for monitoring, at the moment we pull traffic in and out which works fine, we'd like to add errors but whenever we do it says "no such name" Whenever i queried PRTG Support they said
"
I'm very much afraid, we have seen this issue already a few times. The problem is then, that the target device simply does not have / offer values for those additional channels.
The OIDs for those are not available on the target device (http://www.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/26783-oids-of-traffic-sensor
s). There is nothing we can do to solve this though."
I'm trying to import a MIB to monitor (if possible) but there is a vast amount of MIB that is confusing me.
Any idea how to proceed?

Unfortunately the MIBs/OIDs are not placed in an order that makes them easy to browse. The MIBs are downloaded with the firmware.

Then the fun begins. Browsing through each OID to find one with a description that best suites your needs. Then proceed with importing that OID.
It is not uncommon for the MIB file to include OIDs for multiple switches. Kind of like an umbrella approach. This means that you can run into a scenario where an OID is included in a MIB. But the switch will not be able to report it on that OID.
There are various posts where others have chimed in on which OIDs they have found to work for them. May be worth looking at some of the posts.

Keep us posted.
