PowerConnect 5524 to Cisco uplink

I just received my new PowerConnect 5524 and need to connect it into my current Cisco switches. How do I connect it being that there is no Ethernet uplink port? I purchased the switch (2 more planned) to support my PowerEdge 610 and Power Vault 3220i VM solution. What do you recommend? I bought this switch because it was recommended by Dell and it is a nice looking unit that was less expensive than the comparable Cisco. Thank you – James

My core is a WS-C2960-48TC-L supported by a couple other 2960/2950 models.

The 5524s have built-in SFP+ ports, so the switch can be connected to a Cisco device via SFP+ Optical (10Gb), SFP (1Gb), or twinax cable if the Cisco device supports it.  Also, if you have free RJ45 ports on the Cisco switch, you can of course us standard Cat5.

I purchased this switch over a Cisco based on recommendations and price. I don’t want to invest in extra for uplinks as that deflates the savings I received over the Cisco. Here is what I have done, I need gigabit speed from switch so I am going from a port on the Dell switch to the uplink port on the Cisco switches and then from Cisco uplinks to Cisco uplink. The only issue I see he is I ordered a 24 port and all I am really getting is a 20 port. The stacking port is nice but I would like to see a RJ45 port for the uplink on the front as opposed to the console port, move that to the back. Thanks for your input.
