PowerConnect 6248P not stacking with 12m cable

Question

I am attempting to stack 2 PCT6248P via the 12m cx-4 stacking cables and it doesn't work. both start up as Master 1/7 and do not see each other, even if one is started before the other when I use the 1m cx-4 stacking cables they work perfectly, even when restarted If I replace the 1m cable with the 12m stacking cable they remain in the stack configuration until they are restarted. both are running firmware version 3.3.10.3 I have changed the cables to verify that they are not the issue. HELP ? ? ?
