PowerConnect 8164 Firmware
I have acquired a Dell PowerConnect 8164, which I believe the firmware has been erased. The Switch displays a solid RED light and never boots. Would it be possible for dell to send me the microSD internal card to re-load firmware? or provide the files which I can place on MicroSD Card? Could you PM me with other internal testing procedures. Is there any other information you need from me?

Josh,
The PowerConnect 8164, switch is booting and fans are all, however, I am not getting the console at all. Can you provide me with information about what can be done? Can I get replacement parts for this switch, My understanding is the parts are covered under your lifetime warranty for these switches as per the warranty information.
Thank you
Richard

Hi,
So you are not able to access the console? Does it have any lights? Have you unplugged it and plugged it back in?

It sounds like it may be a hardware failure. It doesn’t look like it is under warranty. You may want to call phone support.

@DELL-Josh Cr I am having the same issue. I was trying to wipe the config on a 8132f and when it loaded into u-boot I entered "erase all". It then wiped the flash and now it wont boot at all.
