PowerConnection 6248 time/clock problem?

Hi all,

I find the setting from Dell™ PowerConnect™ 6200 Series Series System User’s Guide-->Configuring SNTP Settings.

I have no idea to update the clock.

I config ntp client setting in PowerConnection 6428 to Windows server 2008 r2.

My config:

Dell6248#show switch

Management Standby Preconfig Plugged-in Switch Code
SW Status Status Model ID Model ID Status Version
--- ---------- --------- ------------- ------------- ------------- -----------
1 Mgmt Sw PCT6248 PCT6248 OK 3.3.5.5

Dell6248#show clock
14:29:37 HKT(UTC+8:00) May 14 2005
No time source

Dell6248#show sntp configuration
Polling interval: 64 seconds

Authentication is not required for synchronization.

Unicast clients: Disable

Unicast servers:

--------- ----------- ----------- ----------

Dell6248#show sntp status
Client Mode: Disabled

Unicast servers:

--------------- ---------------------- --------------------------

Is it correct configuration?

Might try enabling sntp unicast.

console(config)# sntp unicast client enable

Is the SNTP server in a VLAN other than the default VLAN1? are other clients able to receive time from the SNTP server just fine? Have you tried using a public SNTP server to see if behavior changes?
