Powerconnect 5324 factory defaults
Hi, picked up a used Powerconnect 5324 and am having issues getting it up and running properly. I'm trying to find out if there's a way to get this all the way back to factory defaults via a jumper or some method other than the interface. I'm hoping the previous owner's configuration is the cause of the problem.
So far we can't access the configuration utility through the serial port or the web interface and it must not be configured for DHCP. I've connected it to a router along with my laptop and it doesn't show up under the connected device list on the router. Also, trying to connect through the serial port wasn't any more productive. Blank screen with no console prompt. Hitting enter twice per the setup instructions didn't help either.
Right now it functions as a basic switch (computer to network) but will not allow Internet access to a device connected to it. The night I swapped it in I tried everything I could think of but no Internet. Put everyone back on our old Powerconnect 2324 and it's back up and running.
Any suggestions or help would really be appreciated.

happened to have one of these. It should be noted that not any serial cable will work. specifically, you need a RS-232 crossover cable. I had the original cable that came with mine, hooked up to my PE1950, opened hyperterminal (at defaults) and hit enter twice, and it came right up to the console screen. I have another serial cable from a UPS, and it does not work with the 5324, I also get a blank screen and no response when I use that cable. Trivial thing, but I beat my head against the wall trying to get the switch working, once I used the right cable, bam!

That was the problem. Had tried a null modem adapter and that didn't work. Didn't think of trying a crossover serial after that. Thanks for the help.
