Powerconnect 7048 with cx4 module, combo port not working
Hi
I have 2 powerconnect 7048 switches with a CX4 module. I have 2 vlan:
vlan1 port 1 to 24 and vlan 2 25 to 48, but when I plug something in the port 45 to 48, these ports are not working. I see the status as up but when I try to ping something pluged in these ports, nothing reply.
Thanks
DS

Is it this way with just one of the 7048 switches, or both of them act this way?
I would start by checking the configuration on port 45 with the configuration on port 44, a stare and compare kind of thing. You can do a show command for each port to compare them.
It is always a good idea to double check and make sure the firmware is up to date also.

Looking at this documentation I don’t see anything about the module installed disabling any ports, so I don't think it would affect things.

We had the same problem with many 7048P switches. To fix the problem we had to upgrade to 4.2.0.4 software, and most importantly we had to hard set the media-type for the combo ports to work. In our situation we hard set the combo ports to RJ45 and the ports passed traffic. With older software, and the media type not set the combo ports were unreliable.
