Prometheus SNMP Exporter and Dell-EMC Switches
Hi everyone,
New to Prometheus and needing to setup SNMP Exporter to pull metrics from Dell/EMC switches, models S4112, S4128, S4148. Since there are hundreds of oids in the MIB for these devices, I was wondering if anyone has previously gone through the exercise of figuring out let's say the top 10 or so metrics for these devices that are critical and should be monitored, like the correct oids for CPU, Memory, Port stats, the most common ones that should be monitored as a baseline. Turning on all the metrics is overwhelming and does not appear to be a good option, so I am hoping someone in the group can help shed some light on which are most important to start with.
Your help is greatly appreciated and if you need to know anything more from me to help in this respect, reply and I will get back to you ASAP.
Thank You!!

Here are some metrics that I am currently tracking. Please let me know if these are some to keep an eye on and anything else that is valuable to monitor:
- Throughput for the total number of octets received/transmitted out of the interface
- Errors Detected
- Ports up
- load(laLoadInt)
- Boot Time
- Traffic(ifoutoctets/ifinoctets)
- Packets(ucast,broadcast,discards,errors)
