Provider L2 Network Test & 6224 Possible configurations

Question

We have a provider that will be dropping off L2 Services at 5 of our locations.  We will equip each location with a Dell 6224 L2/L3 switch and configure it as an edge/trunk/access switch.  Our initial test between 2 network locations has uncovered that this is a PURE L2 Bridged network.  The test we did was simple;  we connected (2) Laptops at each end as follows; Laptop 1 IP = 10.10.10.10 SUB = 255.255.255.0   Laptop 2 IP = 10.10.10.11 SUB = 255.255.255.0   PING TESTS confirmed L2 Connectivity without a GW Device.  It performs as a single logical switch connection.  These results have modified my original thought processses in using the 6224 as a L2 & L3 device to a simple L2 device only.  I will configure a Trunk port facing the provider.  I will also configure 3-5 different VLAN's for various services that will pass to/from the 5 locations.  The question:  When it comes time to actually route between VLAN's,  we want to be able to keep traffic alive should any node go offline.   In other words, we don't want to home all Traffic down a single link to get to a router.  How can I configure the 6224 to be able to interact with this provider network via L2 Trunks, while also having a L3 capabilitiy at each location?

Yes...thanks,  one of the first things I did after we recieved our shipment was log onto  Dell's site and downloaded the latest v3.3.3.3 firmware. Thanks for the insight...i will report back

Working configuration has the Provider facing port configured as an Access port with it's own VLAN.  VLAN Routing & Global Switch routing configured as well as the pertinent Static Route Statements in order to move traffic from switch 1 PC to switch 2 PC.
