S4048ON switch stack login as SWCluster(standby)# - configure

I have 2 S4048-ON switch configured as stack. When login using ip address with connection type ssh the stack login as SWCluster(standby)#

In the mode configure command is not supported.

What command to use to go to SWCluster#  to use configure command.

Thank you for your support.

Hi R Paul, if I may, I think you need to connect serial console in master switch. In stack group, the IP address need to be configured on master switch ONLY, not on standby switch or member switch. So please configure management ip address on master not on standby since the control plane and data plane managed by master switch only. Hence  we cannot use standby switch to control or manage the switch.

R Paul,

It sounds like you may be using the ip assigned to the standby member and not the stack master, would you be able to confirm if there are other IP addresses assigned to the stack, as well as which OS version you're using?

Let me know what you see.

Hi Chris,

The Dell EMC Application Software Version: 9.14(2.0)

The IP address is assigned to interface ManagementEthernet 2/1

No IP address assigned to the interface ManagementEthernet 1/1

Is there command to configure from the SWCluster(standby)# to go to master mode or is there any other solution which can be used to solve this issue.

Thank you for your support.
