S4810 Version Number
I have inherited an S4810 and before I do anything with it I want to make sure it's on the newest version. From everything I can tell it's running 9.6(0.0). When I put the tag into Dell's system it tells me the latest version is 9.14.1.9P4 dated 2/3/21. What gives? Did they reset the version numbers? Reading the release notes for 9.14 they do reference upgrading from less than 9.3 to 9.14 so it certainly seems like that but it has me slightly worried I'm looking at the wrong software.
Any clarification would be appreciated.

Hello,
If your switch is an S4810P, then yes, 9.14.1.9P4 is the latest revision available. Considering you're seeing this when you enter the tag, I'd be inclined to trust it. However, if you'd like to send me the tag, I can double-check.

Thanks I'm sure you are right but just to be safe it's < Removed by moderator due to private info >. So just for my own curioisty why is the newest version # so much less than the older one I have at 9.6?

Hi John,
I have removed the service tag info that you have posted in public, though no worries, I've taken note of the service tag and updated in our social case.
Yes, the latest firmware is 9.14.1.9P4. Perhaps probably there is a misunderstanding with the version numbers? It's incremental, 8.3.12, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4, 9.5, 9.6, 9.7, 9.8, 9.9, 9.10 and 9.14(1.9P4)

Thanks Joey, I see what confused me now. Internally we see version numbers like 9.6 as 9.60 so when I saw 9.14 I just assumed it was lower. I was basically over thinking it.
Thanks again.
