Single PC5548 uplink to PC5524 stacked using sfp+ cables

Hello,

I uplink one single PC5548 Dell switch to a two-stacked PC 5524 switches, I did not do any special configuration on the switches. i suppose that the single PC5548 switch should be part of the network that any computer plugs into any port on this switch should work, but it isn't and could not ping any ip address on the network.

what should I do further to make this switch join to the rest of the network/switches.

Thanks,

I would say lets look at the running configs from each switch.

#show running-config

This will give us a better idea of how things are currently setup.

Are the SFP port LNK or ACT LEDs on at all?

What transceiver is being used on the switches?

SFP+:

– N743D — SR, Finisar FTLX8571D3BCL

– T307D — LR, Finisar FTLX1471D3BCL

– C043H — LRM, Avago AFBR-707SDZ-D1

– N198M — LRM, Finisar FTLX1371D3BCL

We can also run an optical transceiver diagnostics.

Click System > Diagnostics > Optical Transceiver Diagnostics in the

tree view to display the Optical Transceiver Diagnostics page.
