I was able to get connectivity between my switch and the TFTP server, however not with the SolarWinds TFTP server.  I downloaded tftpd32 and configured it with the exact settings I was using with the SolarWinds equivalent.  I'm not sure what was preventing me from connecting when using SolarWinds, but I resolved this by using tftpd32.  As a side note, I was using the most current version of SolarWinds, as I downloaded it yesterday.

I did try without the .bak before,  and got the same result. I should have mentioned that; attached is the results of the show run command, hope that helps.  I have a feeling it is a simple error that I'm not catching :(

Daniel,

I agree that entering the startup config manually would be an easy task, however I was just trying to copy the configs to my TFTP server to make sure that the server was working correctly.  The main reason I need my TFTP server to work is to update the decade old firmware on our switches.  I still haven't been able to do this task because I can't seem to communicate with the TFTP server.

I tried:
1)  Making sure that the Solarwinds TFTP server was allowed in Windows Firewall

2)  Checking that the TFTP server service is "Started"

3)  Verifying that the "Server Bindings" tab is set to "Bind to all addresses on machine" (192.168.2.119 being in the list)

4)  Permitted Transfer Types is set to "Send and Receive files" and IP Address Restrictions is set to "Allow all IP addresses to send/receive files"

So while I would be able to re-type the configs back in on all the switches if the firmware update messes something up, I still need to be able to contact the TFTP server to update the firmware in the first place.

When updating the firmware for my 3324 PowerConnect switch, I have:

1)  332448-1213.dos (This is the firmware I assume)

Do I also need a file for the "Boot Code" or "Bootloader", or will uploading the 332448-1213.dos file to the switch be everything I need to complete a firmware upgrade?  Sorry if this question is simple, but I have never done a firmware upgrade on a switch before.
