Understanding SNMP trap - Powerconnect 6224

Hi,

I've enabled SNMP trap for a 2 unit Stack of powerconnect 6224.

I'm receiving quite a lot of warning alerts traps. Some are not clear to me :

- "LinkDown port or number 68".

Uuuuuh,  who is "68" on my 48 ports stack ? ("port or number 68" is not alone it is accopagned by "port or number 63", 58, 70, 65)

- "dellTrapSeqNum=8278, dellTrapSource=Unit=1, port=649, dellTrapSeverity=0, dellTrapInfo=Instance 0"

649 !? are you sure ?

More  disturbing are the numerous critical alerts, in that form :

dellTrapSeqNum=8282, dellTrapSource=Link Index=68, dellTrapSeverity=2, dellTrapInfo=Instance 0

What Am I supposed to do with that ?

Thanks for you help.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply

I'm using OpenManage Essentials.

It's not clear what MIB I have to import. When I try to import an parse dell_trap.my, it says "Trap for DELL-LAN-MIB MIB are already defined".

Hi,

thanks for your help. But I've unable to get something valuable.

So far I've beenn able to load ony new MIB : rfc2925_traceroute.my

I've been through quite a lot other MIB files and get either "already in there" or "lno trap found in xxx.my" or  "refers to another, add yyyy-zzzz-MIB (which id not a file name) and most often I don't find it.
