VLT backup link needs to have a physical connection?
Hi all
Can I ask a question I just finished configuring my core switch with VLT Domain but my heartbeat status is disabled, I already configured backup destination for both vlt peer 1 and 2
I just want to clarify if the OOB port at the back of my s4810 needs to have a physical connection in any of my other switch or do I need to cascade the oob port in my S4810-1 to my oob port in my S4810-2
I just want to test the backup destination link if I disconnect the VLTi I think backup destination will be the one to carry the load
Thanks in advance
BRENT

The preferred method is to have the OOB on a separate management network. However I have gotten by during testing using a direct connection from one S4810 to another S4810 on the OOB to test failover and the heartbeat.

Ok sir I just cascade the oob port from one s4810 to another s4810 and the heartbeat status will be up? not established?
I already configured the oob management in different network
My management ip which is vlan2 : 172.10.2.253-2.254
OOB management: 172.10.4.1-2
for both s4810 switches
thanks
