X1052P Compatibility & Usability

Hi Dell Tech Support,

we are expanding our office to accommodate more staffs. We plan to add switches (with POE) as to power the desk phone at each workstations as well.

Proposed POE Switch (Access Switch): Dell Networking X1052P

http://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/povw/networking-x-series

Existing Switch (Distribution): HP V1810-48G

Existing POE Injector (for Distribution Switch):

Our questions are:

  1. Will there be any compatibility issue when the X1052P (to be used as access/edge switch) connecting to the HP switch as above (distribution switch)?
  2. Should that does not work, do you think it is OK to make the X1052p as distibution switch as well (hence it will directly connect to the core switch as above, same level as the HP switch)?
  3. On other note, would the X1052p become unmanaged switch by default, and hence could straight away be used ("Plug and Play") if no configuration is done?

Many thanks for your help!
