PowerConnect 28xx Port Link Aggregation Capabilities

The PowerConnect 28xx series switches support up to four static LAGs (LACP is not supported) with up to four ports per LAG.

The following are the guidelines for configuring LAGs:

• Finish configuring the link aggregation group before you connect the corresponding network cables between switches.

• All ports in the same LAG do not need to be the same media type (i.e., twisted-pair vs. fiber), as long the ports are the same speed.

• The ports on both ends of the LAG must be configured the same (VLAN, speed, duplex mode, flow control, and CoS settings) initially.

• There are no ASIC chip limitations for LAG creation.

Dell PowerConnect 28xx User Guide

I see no reference of LACP in the User Guide for the 28XX model.  Page 131 discusses the configuration options for Port Aggregation. I tried setting a couple ports on the WebGUI in a VLAN as tagged then add them to a LAG and comes back null and will not let you add to a LAG while in a VLAN.

The 35xx model does support LACP.

Hope this helps,
