Broadcom 5751 w/ Jumbo Frames and BACS Support?
Does the BroadCom Netextreme 5751 NIC support Jumbo Frames and the use of the BAC Utility?
I've got a sc1420 Poweredge Server and everything I read states that the 5751 NIC supports Jumbo Frames but in the settings I do not see any settings for it and I have tried pinging the NIC with packets larger than 1500 and they Time Out.
Thanks for any info!!

I was mistaken on the model, its a sc420. The manual shows the option for JUMBO MTU for the 5751 but regardless of what driver I use I still have been unable to send large packets. Some of the itmes we have tried
-Installed newest Broadcom drivers as well as the 7.6 and 7.7 Dell Broadcom drivers.
-Installed new CAT 6 cable
-Verified port is able to handle large packets (using SMC 8505T)
Any assistance on this would be great.

OK, got it sorted. The program you need is on the utilities and diags cd or resourse cd that came with your server.
Run this, select your server and os and on the next page select the broadcom extreme range driver. Extract this to the local hard disk. In the folder /broadcom/ will be a folder called mgmtapps. Run the setup prg and it will install and put an icon the the system tray.
Open this and the jumbo mtu is on the advaced tab under your device.
The dell install routine only install the drivers by default not the management apps.
