Can't find/change SSID name for wireless router
I'm trying to find out what the SSID name is for my Dell True Mobile 2300 router and so far I've searched the archives and found out basically what I need to do. BTW I'm using Windows XP. However, everytime I try to access the web browser to view/adjust these settings (the router manual says to go to http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser) I get this pop up window asking for a username and password. I tried both Mozilla Firefox and IE and got the same thing. I was never asked to set up any kind of password when I installed my router and I don't have a clue as to what to do now. When I installed it basically I just plugged it in and it has worked fine ever since. For the heck of it I tried a username/password combo that I use rather often, and it wouldn't take that either. But I need to get the SSID name because my roommate is unable to connect to the internet (she got some tech help from the cable company but they said she would have to have the SSID to go any further). How can I by-pass this password thing - or figure out what username/password to enter? Is there any other way I can get the info?
