Connecting to a domain and a home network

I Have a dell inspiron 600m which I use at home as part of Group in a wireless network.

At work I have another computer which is a part of a domain on the LAN. Sometimes I would like to take my portable to work and connect it to the LAN but because it is configured to be part of the Group at home I do not know how to connect it to the domain without changing the configuration

When I go to My Computer and then to Properties, under Computer Name I see the portable is configures to work as part of the group and I would have to change to the domain in order to make it connect.

Is there a way to configure my portable to connect to either the domain in the LAN at work and the group in my home network?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

There are many programs that can store "network profiles" but changing from a home network to a domain will have to be done manually, this is a big change in how windows works in a network.

Well, tehcnically you can run the home laptop on your Domain (WITH THE PERMISSION OF YOUR EMPLOYER), but you will not have access to the resources on the network, other than connectivity.

Then agian, I have seen instances where you use a Workgroup system on a domain and if you know the address of a resourve, say a printer, you would have to do the "run as" where you enter your domain credentials.

Thanks for the infomation. As you say I can run my laptop on the domain and have connectivity (email, even some printers) but I cannot acces any of the resources on the network.

Thanks again it was worth the try.

You should be able to connect and possibly even see them and if you "run as", it might possibly work.
