Dell TrueMobile 1150 Series Mini-PC Card and WPA-PSK2 - Windows XP

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there exists a Firmware update for the Dell TrueMobile 1150 Series Mini-PCI Card, so that it can support WPA-PSK2.

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3 with the latest drivers for the Mini-PCI Card: version 7.86.15.638

SP3 supports WPA-PSK2 so this cannot be the problem. I even tried to download an update from Microsoft for WPA-PSK2 but it says SP3 has it already embedded.

I looked for firmware/driver updates on the dell website, but there were no releases mentioned for this Network Card. So I was wondering if there may exist an other method (or maybe an unofficial firmware release) to be able to use WPA-PSK2 with this Network Card.

Best Regards,

Doom

Doom007,

I can only suggest that you try dropping back to WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security, use channels 1,6 or 11(I use 11) and mixed mode and see if it connects. NOT all wireless devices work with WPA2 Security as I have found out.
