Ethernet Port on Vostro 3360

Hi all

Strange thing happened with Vostro 3360, the ethernet port stopped working, suddenly, with no reason. Laptop is not recognizing cable, says "network cable is unplugged". Visually it's totally fine from the outside and inside, enabled in BIOS, not working with Ubuntu as well, haven't dropped it on the floor. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Eugene87,

I would suggest you to update the BIOS on the computer to fix the issue. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the BIOS from BIOS section onto the system and install it and then wireless card driver from Network section onto the Desktop screen.

Also, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Ethernet card driver on the system. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the ethernet card.

1. Click on Start button.
2. In the search box type, devmgmt.msc and then press enter.
3. Select the Ethernet card device under Network Adapter and right click on it
4. Now select properties.
5. In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
6. Check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
7. You want to delete the driver click OK.

After the uninstall finishes restart the system. Then reinstall the Ethernet card driver on the system using the file downloaded on the desktop.
